I firmly believe that there is a way to make your business card produce sales, and actually make people hold on to your card longer than ever before.  Of course, you HAVE TO LEAVE THE OLD WAYS BEHIND........And Can You Do That?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;First off, I want it known that I don't believe in really unique business cards designs, fancy cutouts, cards made out of see through plastic or anything artsy and nouveau.  They Don't SELL!!  Because who cares how unique the card is, if the person your giving the card to doesn't know a thing about your company, products, services etc.  And knowing about your company, products, services etc. is not enough to SELL THEM ANYWAY!!  So this is the wrong angle.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Next, if you honestly expect your new prospect to be blown away by your super creative new card design.....think again!!  They won't be.  Again, you still have not given them a compelling enough reason to even care about you or what you are selling.  And trust me, the artsy fartsy isn't going to do it!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Another observation you should have made by now, is that times have changed dramatically, and technology has brought in a whole new level of marketing possibilities.  If you are not backing up everything you do with a web presence that enforces your objectives, then get a website today.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is critical that when you expose your new prospect to you and your company, that you leave them with literally no room to find a reason NOT TO DO BUSINESS WITH YOU!!  And if you don't have a website that continues the selling process.......you just gave them their reason not to buy!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And this does apply to everyone who uses a business card: Lawyers, Doctors, Salespeople, Musicians etc.  Don't think it doesn't.  Because your new client, customer, prospect sees it that way.  If you don't, then here again, you lost them.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So back to the business card.  This little tool, if it's done right, can be a mighty selling machine.  The real trick is, getting this through your thick head that its not just a lowly "calling card" that you give very little attention to. As I went through these cards, I started making a list of the Most Important things I felt made for a good business card.  I also made a list of all of the people I did business with from this list.  The following is my observations.....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;First off, most business cards are really bad.  A complete waste of card stock.  In fact, I couldn't hardly remember with any certainty.....what most of these people even did.  And the business card didn't help at all.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;One card read like this:  Logo at the top left, Bob Smith in the middle, Bob's numbers and addresses below that, an e-mail, a toll free number and then something dumb like..."Quality Always Comes Through"........ That's great....but what the heck does he want me to do with that.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;First off, I have no idea what he does or sells...so I will never be a customer (Strike One).  Second, I could really care less what his name is or where he can be found or how to reach him...because he didn't give me a reason to remember (Strike Two).  Third, the card was white with black text and green accents...and no printing on the back.  Boy, this guy really went all out to make an impact on his, "prospective customers", didn't he?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The fact of the matter is, if a business card has no compelling reason to keep it......we pitch it!!  So what makes a compelling offer?  What makes us hold onto a card?  But most importantly, what makes us BUY???&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is the study of the day.  What message makes us want to buy what someone else is selling?  Good question in fact.  A question that can only make sense If we allow ourselves to explore outside the normalcy of business card design.  The real question is.....can you allow that.....even if it doesn't make sense at first?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Tomorrow, when I get my energy back, I want to pose a few direct observations at what I think works, and hopefully some of it will make sense.  I want to show you the ideas that make my business card produce sale after sale, with literally NO RESISTANCE. and the more I hand out....the more it returns profit! Its always the same old thing;  Here's my name (who really cares), my company (snore) and best of all...my address and phone number (don't even bother giving me that)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So of course, everyday, I lend a little advice to these people, most of which falls upon deaf ears.  I mean, how many people really think they've developed anything but the finest marketing materials known to man.  Most people I'd say.  And I'd say that they are wrong.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Here is a test, pull your business card out right now, and jump into the shoes of your next prospective customer.  What do you see.  If your honest, you've noticed that your business card gives absolutely NO COMPELLING REASON for anyone to do business with you.  Sure you might see a logo that you like, your name and title that you like to slobber over and of course, that amazing phone number and address people are just kicking down doors for.....right?  Yeah, okay.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now don't take my attitude as being smug, but if you were the customer....you'd see it for what its really worth.  Nothing.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So the question really is, how do we design a business card that sells?  In fact, is it even possible to expect sales from such a blunt little tool?  My answer is.........absolutely!!  It just takes an out of the box approach to the whole deal.  Unfortunately, this is the part that I usually get paid for, so I am going to keep it short.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Irregardless of the profession you are in, if you derive your money from selling....you need to know the following information;  You Must Give Your Customer A 100% Compelling Reason To Buy From You!!  Miss this, and forget printing the business cards, flyers, brochures, catalogs, door hangers and everything else.......they will fail!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In the next article,  we will examine a couple of industries, and the compelling offers that have been made that customers always chomp on.  Offers so irresistible, that the customer is driven to a near frenzy long before you have the chance to catch up. But the real secret is that there is, "No Secret".  Does that make sense to you?  In fact, the real secret lies in the principle of simply taking action.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you have something you need to do for your business to make more sales, then the key to getting that to happen is to simply take action.  Many people, including myself, at one point or another in life, have been literally stumped by not taking action on a project.  And that has led to an amazing amount of frustration and financial ruin.  It doesn't have to be.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you have an idea, odds are, if you know your business, that idea probably has teeth to it.  The problem for many people, including myself again, is that we tend to run those ideas by others who do nothing but shoot them down.  And from time to time we listen to them, and ultimately nothing gets done.  This ushers in the feeling that nothing we do seems to make sense to others, and in walks procrastination and depression.  It doesn't have to be.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you have an idea, chase it down.  Don't over analyze it to the point of "making it fail".  Just take things in stride and focus more on the reason you like the idea in the first place.  When you start to read into your ideas things that are not there, you are going to fail.  And this most assuredly, doesn't have to be.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So go ahead and buck the system a little.  Listen to that inner part of yourself that gets excited by taking a chance at something.  Turn your creative mind loose and you'll be amazed at what you come up with.  Chances are, hidden somewhere in your subconscious, is an idea that could set your company on fire.  Trick is, do you have the guts to go for it?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Maybe for once in your life, you'll start listening to your thoughts and ideas instead of others.  I really believe that once you do, you'll experience something truly amazing that you never quite knew existed.  Something that cannot be analyzed, constrained or even challenged by others, because its an idea that has not seen the light of day yet. Problem was, I started becoming a "meglomaniac" of sorts, and shortly after that I watched everything that I had built crumble into pieces!  And as I awoke the next morning, I had lost nearly everything.  Things were pretty scary.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So what does that have to do with Joel Comm?  Nothing Directly, but in a moment, I'll explain where I am going with this.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For those of you who don't know, Joel Comm is an internet entrepreneur, author, blogger and promoter of making money online.  He operates a number of successful web businesses, and has published a number of successful making money books.  In fact, I bought his, "The Adsense Code", and it was well written with tons of good ideas and tactics.  He also has a new book out that you can check out on his website. People like Joel.  So I started to chase his blog and found myself appreciating his, "A dot Comm Story", videos.  These testimonies have really kept me going during my time writing here on this blog.  Because sometimes when you set down to write your articles, the ideas just don't always flow so easy.....so you need a little pick-me-up!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And although I have never met Joel in person, I can read right through his blog, and I feel he is a genuine article!  He seems to really care about helping people, which I believe comes from his sense of Faith.  He is successful, and people want to learn from his insight and information, and I include myself in that group.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So if your really interested in learning how to make money online, then I would suggest that you tune in to &lt;a href="http://www.joelcomm.com/"&gt;Joel's website&lt;/a&gt; on a regular basis. Maybe we are just trying to get people to click on our ads.  Easy enough, Right?  Yea....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But in reality, long before we write the ad, we had better of thought it through a little.  Because just as we are sure we've nailed it, we are completely blindsided by utter failure.  The ad never pulled a single hit or sale.  Sure, it might have seen a click or two here or there, but those clicks never converted into anything meaningful.  They saw an offer that contrasted too greatly from the actual "deal", then they bolted.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The real question is......Why Did They Bolt?  Was it the look of the landing page?  YES!  Was it the sales letter?  YES!  Was it the trust factor? YES!    And something much deeper....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So our dilemma now, is to try and find out what is stifling our sales conversions.  But this is easier said than done, so I might offer up a thought as to what I think.  Or rather, how we should think when we develop our ads.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The thought process goes like this;  I go to the hardware store to "buy" a drill.  Now, let's say that we translate this to the &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;Internet&lt;/span&gt;.  You have an online business that is monetized, and for some reason you want to sell drills.  &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"&gt;Ok&lt;/span&gt;ay.  So you write the "world's greatest drill" ad.  Place a whole bunch of keywords into Google &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3"&gt;AdWords&lt;/span&gt;, and bingo....your going to make a small fortune come sun up.  You can't wait to check your &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4"&gt;AdWords&lt;/span&gt; account, and most definitely your &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5"&gt;Pay Pal&lt;/span&gt; account expecting to see at least some type of money.  But day after day, and a whole bunch of &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6"&gt;AdWords&lt;/span&gt; dollars later, you haven't seen squat.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Reason.  We forgot that (try to follow this psychology, even if it is crazy)  PEOPLE DO NOT WANT TO BUY DRILLS!!  WHAT THEY REALLY WANT IS A HOLE(S)!!    If we could get the hole without having to buy the drill.....we would.  Right?  DUH!!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So think about that for a moment.  Because That's The KEY!!  Or for marketing's sake, THE SECRET!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Not following me?  Okay, let's chase it down some more.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You did not buy that online money making course because you wanted to own more books and &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7"&gt;Cd's&lt;/span&gt;!  You did not join every social networking site because you can type really well!  I'd bet you did not subscribe to &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_8"&gt;Internet&lt;/span&gt; service because you like cables.....And I can 100% GUARANTEE that you didn't buy that VIAGRA because you like little tiny things that are blue!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I can almost hear some goofball right now saying, "that's just selling benefits over features".  And to that I would say, "I might have found the only guy on earth that actually wants to buy a drill!"&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I promise that the madness will continue in Part 3. To be perfectly honest, I myself cannot remember the last time any particular ad made sense to me.  Sense enough to click on anyway, much less, convert.  So why is that?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My personal feeling is, that most ads are obviously written with the intent of drawing in the prospective customer, but we have all chased too many of these false promise ads to fall for that anymore.  Right?  Well, as for me, I may be cynical, but I can see right through these ads before I ever click through.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So is the internet becoming nothing more than a place for a select few to get rich drawing in more and more "new Suckers" all the time?  I don't think so.  I think it goes deeper than that.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It seems to me, that the new frontier in ad writing and internet marketing, will be taken over by those who can consistently and intelligently draw in customers with real deals.  Of course the "real Deals" have to have the same mass appeal that the scam ads do, but they also need to appeal to that deep seeded logical and sensible side we all possess.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And, I might add, they have to appeal to our sensible and logical side without actually being exposed as to that.  Simply put, people don't always buy based on logic.  We buy based on emotion, and emotion is not logical or sensible.  To get the customer to buy based on logic and sensibility without knowing it, while also driving them crazy with emotion......now that's what I am talking about!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But of course, that is going to have to be a lesson for tomorrow.  Because right now, just thinking about how I am going to put into words what my brain understands, yet make it logical and sensible, with a huge dose of emotion put in......is making my mind grind to a screeching halt.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But I do assure you that I am going to take you to new depths of "out of the box" thought.  We will explore our psyche under an intense light, and expose its quirky and fascinatingly twisted workings. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This ought to be fun.&lt;div class="feedflare"&gt;

Like most sites, these websites are also monetized in a number of ways.  What I am seeing convert on a regular basis, and what never converts is the topic of this article.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It seems that many times our attention for monetizing our sites comes down to the areas that we like.  Such as, hobbies, blogging, hot products, whatever....  However, when we look to the affiliate groups for links to monetize our site, we pick the things we "think" will produce clicks or sales conversions.  But this is not always the case.  In fact, I might be as bold to say, that most everything we monetize our sites with never converts.....but this does require a great deal of honesty to admit.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So what turns the tide for us?  What can we do to test what works, on which site, for what audience....and so on?  TEST, TEST, TEST!  Let's take a look.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For example, on one of my sites I decide to run an ad for, "camping gear" let's say.  And let's say that the advertising links are placed well above the fold, and anchored with a great article supplying information about camping.  OK, now, when you look to the analytics program you use (and hopefully you do use one) what do you see?  Clicks? Sales?  Nothing?  Sometimes there is nothing...because the problem is not the affiliate link or product/service after all......it's your copy or ad that's failing!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You see, its simple really.  Human psychology suggests that our natural mental tendencies are to lean toward fear and loss greater, than the desire for gain and joy.  Sad.....but true.  So we compensate.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When was the last time you saw an ad that proposed that the product or service being sold, was the greatest product in the world?  Question really is, when was the last time you didn't see an ad written that way?  They are all written that way mostly.  That's why we never click, buy or convert!  Plain and simple.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The magic, if you will, lies far beyond the obvious.  Writing incredible ads and ad copy that make prospects click, buy and convert is the quest of all bloggers and internet gurus. Then, simply choose your favorite genre', easy listening, blues, rap....whatever, then just hit the play button on the pop-up box and wham-o....FREE RADIO ALL DAY!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Once you are listening to music, shrink the play box into your lower tray, and let it go.  The only thing you may have to do to maintain the player, once in a while, is to highlight the play box in the lower tray and hit the continue play line on the player.  This way, they will continue to send free feed to your computer.  It seems I have only had to do that maybe once an hour or so......but considering I don't have to go buy a radio......its a decent trade off.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Browse around the Live 365 site a little and you'll also find some other cool stuff that will make your work day go a little faster. However, I happen the love the idea of unbridled, "thinking outside the box", and when its tapped right....AMAZING THINGS HAPPEN!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So a group of us got together and started working on an Idea Lab of sorts, and began digging way down to come up with some of the Most Insane and Ridiculous ideas ever thrown on the table.  What we came up with brought goosebumps to everybody, and the energy that flowed during those sessions was mind boggling.  Ideas that have absolutely NO PRACTICAL application in life, sometimes have hidden MILLIONS OF DOLLARS in them.  This was our goal.  Is it possible?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Only time will tell, this is why we are recruiting Idea people that have the guts to escape the box, and come play on a way different playground.  Are you capable of understanding life outside the parameters of a controlled society?  Can you create ideas, but can't land them?  Do you need to get plugged in to a highly motivated group of people, all of which are creating a vault of radically different idea development strategies? Sell How-To How-To!!</title><description>&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_w2y3wq6QnVU/SLDGkVBDoRI/AAAAAAAAAdw/9h4pz4xs0jw/s1600-h/Money+piles.jpg"&gt;&lt;img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_w2y3wq6QnVU/SLDGkVBDoRI/AAAAAAAAAdw/9h4pz4xs0jw/s400/Money+piles.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5237904694051053842" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;Of course this may not make sense, but the title is appropriately written....and relevant to boot.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It seems that when you look around the &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;internet&lt;/span&gt; for opportunities to make money, all you run in to these days is someone selling How-To information.  How-To How-To.....to be exact.  Let me explain.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Doesn't it seem odd that most of the "selling" on the &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;internet&lt;/span&gt; is comprised of selling how-to information that does nothing but explain how you can sell how-to information.  Is anybody selling anything?  The answer is pretty funny really.  Yes and No.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Its like this, a guy has an idea for an e-book, the title of which is, "How To Write Great Ads That Really Sell!"  Now, you come along and buy this e-book, only to find out that the book explains how to write your own e-book, "How To Write Great Ads That Really Sell", and make money for yourself.  Something was sold, the book, and someone made money.  You got the information, and now you feel duped, because you just spent another $29.95 for literally useless information.  But suppose after a little thought it really hits you;  I just spent $29.95 for this stuff.....someone just made $29.95 on me!  A-Ha...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So you decide that you might try to put together some more useless information and add to the worthless clutter already on the web, and make yourself some money.  Well, something deep inside your gut says, this is a joke, and you ultimately come away from the experience with an empty feeling.  Empty until the next iron clad money maker comes along.....then of course your going to be a sucker for that one too.....and you know it!  Why?  Because the dream continues.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Wouldn't it be cool if there really was an iron clad and genuine opportunity around every corner?  Reality tells us different, so we must look even deeper to find the true nuggets of prosperity.  We need to search the &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"&gt;internet&lt;/span&gt; forums and bulletin boards and find as much information as we can before we buy the next great deal.  Most of the time you'll find that what is really being sold on the &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3"&gt;internet&lt;/span&gt;, is emotion...plain and simple.  Emotion wrapped up in a hot new package, praying on our desires to make more money and live a better life.  Do I hear, "ruse".&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now don't get me wrong, I am an eternal optimist.  I guess it just comes with age that a person starts to realize their own emotional, "hot buttons", and how to regulate those and check things out first before getting suckered.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;All in all, this leaves me with only one thing left to say at this point;  Anyone have a Hot Money Maker For Sale?
