Are we really doing it Our Way? The Great Ruse

December 30th, 1968, Frank Sinatra recorded this song to which more than a few have quoted in their lifetime for the way they also did things. "I DID IT MY WAY". Are you sure about that?

The reason I ask this question is really very simple; What really is My Way? Was dying of a massive heart attack at 82, Frank Sinatra's chosen way? Did he plan that? Or for that matter.....can anyone?

Why are we always so sure that we are doing things our way? Is it because we are so scared of NOT being in total control that we tend to fabricate most of our thoughts around actually being in control. Like just the mere fact of saying that we are in control has anything to do with it. Maybe its because we have had a great deal of success in life and can afford to do things a certain way others can't. Or maybe its because we were born great looking and doors throughout life just seemed to swing open for us. Or maybe we were born both great looking and rich, and even when we got busted for crimes...we somehow came out unscathed only to see our wealth grow bigger because of it. Who knows what it is. But the real scary part comes when you have lost the ability to see that it never was you.

In a post modern world, the power of my way, rules all. My thoughts, my actions, my opinions, my knowledge, my wisdom.......My Way! In fact its safe to say that you could also braid together the saying, "I am a self made whatever". The truth is, there is NO SUCH THING AS SELF MADE! Get this through your head. You cannot do it ALL by yourself, no matter how deluded you are. For example, most people have said that Warren Buffett is a self made billionaire. Truth is, he is a billionaire, but who was it that created ALL of the natural resouces Buffett's companies use to make their fortunes.....Warren Buffett? No. Did Buffett design and patent all of the products that these companies use and sell? No. Did Buffett drive all of the delivery trucks for the products, design, build and fly all of the airplanes that ship the products, design, build and navigate every vessel on the ocean that carried products overseas? Of course not. And where did all of the money come from that purchased the goods and services that has made him a very rich man? You and me. So how is it we call this self-made? Easy.....

WE LIE TO OURSELVES! Period. This elevates us, or rather, keeps us in the frame of mind that allows us to say, "I did it My Way". I needed No Other Human Being to make it happen. Just me. Just my brilliant self and all of my glory. Then we hear it from others how great we are, and our meglomania grows out of control. Then we die.............and its ALL OVER!

Ask yourself this question; When I die, and 1000 years go by, will anyone remember what I did? In a thousand years, Warren Buffett's accomplishments in the here and now will be LONG, LONG FORGOTTEN. But in his day, King Solomon was the wealthiest, most powerful king of all, and he is remembered because why? Because he was risen to power by God, and then gave God His due. Now, over 3000 years later, nearly 3 billion people remember Solomon through the Holy Scriptures. Think about that.

So I propose a toast to doing it "God's Way". Did it take me a long time to be able to say that? Yes, a long time. But I realize now that the old way of things is fading fast. Our days are like a puff of smoke, and then your gone....never to be remembered again for all time. So as for me, I will give credit where credit is due, and I will submit to the timeless fact that I control nothing forever. I, like the rest of us, have been chosen for this segment of time, and there will be no greater loss except to think otherwise. So put away your "MY WAY", and start living "THE ONLY WAY"...so that when your head hits the pillow at night, you truly have no regrets.
