It comes as no surprise that one day we would be talking about this, but just why is another mystery. Many people can remember the days when they would grow their own food in their garden and get most other whole foods from their local farmers. They would jar and preserve food from the Spring and Summer, and have ample supply for the Fall and Winter. Sure it took a lot of extra work, but it was honest and noble work......Work That Would Provide Good Food For Your Family!!
But along the way we all went and got too busy "keeping up with the Joneses", and we became in essence slaves to the retail food business. With our lack of quality time with our families, our shopping routines have changed dramatically, and now its a "Wal-Mart" nation. Buying cheap, highly processed, man-made "food" for the most part, is now causing so many other problems than just a food shortage, but that will be a topic for another time.
The point is, "Its All Coming Full Circle". Local farmers, that unfortunately have been struggling to stay afloat for decades, are going to be the default solution to the problem...and they are going to rake in the cash. As I feel they deserve!
Like myself and many others, you should be making contact with your local farmers or farmers market organization, and getting your connections made RIGHT NOW! By the time the FOOD CRISIS hits full force, its going to be considerably more difficult to establish these relationships because of supply issues. You are going to get much better food and dairy anyway. Much Better! So being proactive today, means little to no worries tomorrow. And then you can be one of the group that doesn't worry about the Headlines and News Flashes that will soon plague our nation.
